Which Court? Depending on the amount of money involved, you may take your case to the Disputes Tribunal, the District Court or the High Court. The Disputes Tribunal is a useful and informal procedure for small cases where the parties are in dispute over sums up to $7500 (or $13,000 if both sides agree). Undisputed debts cannot be sued for. The District Court handles 95% of claims including all debt collection claims. The High Court handles fewer cases but they are the most serious and involve the greatest monetary amounts (over $200,000).
